The connector (1) for sliding components (2, 3) comprises a cover plate (7) that can move on the end (8) of one component (2) and extend, in a deployed position, over the end (9) of the second (3) to cover the joint (10) between them. The cover plate has locating projections (14) to fix it in its retracted and deployed positions relative to the head of a guide stud (12), while allow it to move when an appropriate effort is applied to it.
