An image processing device converts a first image in which one of first to n-th color component (n >= 2) is pixel-arranged into a second image in which the first to the n-th color components are aligned in pixel unit. The image processing device includes a smoothing unit which performs smoothing of the pixel position having the first color component in the first image by using the first color component of the peripheral pixel and makes the first color component after the smoothing the first color component of the pixel position of the second image. Furthermore, the smoothing unit includes a control unit for modifying the filter characteristic for smoothing according to the imaging sensitivity at which the first image has been imaged.
