The device (10) is designed as a cylindrical body (12) provided with cylindrical extensions (14, 16) with a smaller diameter located at both of the flat sides used for clamping the device (10) to a machine tool. The outer surface of the central cylinder (12) is provided with a multitude of helical arranged cutting edges (18) with alternating positive and negative cutting angles and grooves (20) of different depths for a smooth action on the flat surface of a work-piece assembled of areas made of harder and softer materials.
