<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking method which can easily apply marking at a low cost on a finished product and, in addition, in which a worked place is reinforced so as not to get more easily breakable than a non-worked place after working. <P>SOLUTION: In a method for recording clear characters, symbols or the like on the surface of a three-dimensionally shaped workpiece, the workpiece is fixed and a masking sheet is peelably pasted to the surface of the workpiece so as to be penetrated by laser beams irradiated from above the masking tape in order to form recesses having shapes to record the characters, symbols or the like therein on the surface of the workpiece.
