LOOP AERIAL AND NONCONTACT IC CARD READER/WRITER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a loop antenna and a noncontact IC card reader/writer which attenuates the far field with suppressing the attenuation of the near flux of electromagnetic waves.

SOLUTION: The loop antenna 10 has an electromagnetic shield 1 provided at least on one surface. The shield 1 comprises a plurality of conductors 2, a ground contact 3 for connecting to the ground and lead wires 4 for connecting the plurality of conductors 2 to the ground contact 3. The plurality of conductors 2 are electrically connected to the ground contact 3 through the lead wires 4, and so laid that the route from any point of each conductor 2 to the ground contact 3 via the lead wire 4 is uniquely determined.
