PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable traction grease composition having biodegradability, expectable to be usable in food machinery and having necessary traction performance. SOLUTION: The biodegradable traction grease composition is produced by using a saturated hydrocarbon-based synthetic hydrocarbon having a kinematic viscosity of≥1 mm<SP>2</SP>/s and≤6 mm<SP>2</SP>/s at 100°C as a base oil and a calcium soap as a thickener. The calcium soap of the composition is free from hydroxy group and has a carbon number of 10-24. The content of the calcium soap in the composition is 5-17 wt.%. The mixing consistency of the composition is 360-200. The composition has a greasy form and the traction coefficient is 0.14-0.10 satisfying the necessary traction performance.
