PURPOSE: A method for obtaining a fingerprint image with a small sensor by sliding/rolling a finger is provided to enhance recognition by obtaining the large fingerprint image combining each partial fingerprint image, as the finger is simultaneously rolled/slid on an input window of the sensor in a state that the finger touches the input window. CONSTITUTION: The sequential partial fingerprint images are obtained by rolling/sliding the finger on the input widow of the sensor(S110). After preprocessing each partial fingerprint image, one entire fingerprint image is generated by fusing each partial fingerprint image(S120). Whole deformation of the entire fingerprint image by movement of the finger is corrected(S130). Features are extracted from the corrected entire fingerprint image and are stored in a fingerprint database(S140).
