<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicated position specifying device for specifying indicated positions of various objects and a method therefor, and an image display system using such an indicated position specifying device. <P>SOLUTION: Marks 3A-3D at four corners of a display device 4 are imaged by an imaging device 21 provided at a gun type controller 2, and the positions of mark images 81-84 on an imaging screen 8 are detected by a mark position detecting section 23. A relative rotation angle to a screen 5 of the gun type controller 2 is detected at an angle detection device 22 of the gun type controller 2.
