摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake air amount control system for an internal combustion engine capable of properly compensating unevenness in intake air amount between cylinders and improving both of operation property and exhaust gas characteristic in even a normal operation load zone including a high load zone. SOLUTION: An ECU 2 of the intake air amount control system 1 for the internal combustion engine 3 for controlling amount of intake air sucked into four cylinders # 1 to # 4 independently from each other by a phase variable mechanism 80 between suction cams and identifies coefficientϕ#i of suction air amount unevenness so that an inferred value Gth_est agrees with TH passing intake air amount Gth based on a model (expression (43)) defining the relation between the inferred value Gth_est of TH passing intake air amount and a plurality of simulation values Gcyl_OS#i. It calculates target phaseθssi#i_cmd between suction cams per cylinder in accordance with the identified coefficientϕ#i of intake air amount unevenness (step 81) and calculates control input DUTY_ssi#2 to #4 into the phase variable mechanism 80 between suction cams in accordance with the target phaseθssi#i_cmd between suction cams (step 75).
