<p>Compsn. comprises a water-soluble alkali metal acid salt, a non-ionic detergent and an amylase obtained by (i) freezing an animal's pancreas, (ii) grinding to ca. 1-10 mm, (iii) stirring with a low mol. wt. liquid alcohol, (iv) diluting with water, to c.a. 30-70 wt.% alcohol concn. (v) stirring and filtering to collect the extract, (vi) diluting with water and stirring, (vii) cooling to 0.5- degrees C and (ix) separating the amylase powder. The compsn. has a pH of ca. 6-7 in 1-3% aq. soln. Compsn. does not corrode silverware or porcelain, damage glazes nor stain glass.</p> |
