PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image/sound in a short time without reducing the storage area of a removable recording medium. SOLUTION: In a recording/playing-back device of the removable recording medium which preliminarily records data capable of shortening the time from a reproduction instruction to the start of reproduction when the data is read on a memory prior to the reproduction of the data from the removable recording medium in a cache area of the removable recording medium, in the case of recording the data to be recorded in the cache area in the removable recording medium, the space bitmap equivalent to the data to be recorded in the cache area is left as an unused area.
