<p>A method of making an interior trim system (10) for a vehicle such as a carpet layer includes providing a trim assembly (10) having a cover layer (12) and a backing layer (14) attached to the cover layer (12). The backing layer (14) includes a polymeric material and a blowing agent (42) . The method further includes activating the blowing agent (42) to form fluid cells (42,51,27) in the backing layer (14) that expand and burst, such that the backing layer is an air-permeable layer after the activating step.</p> |
