PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp eliminating the problem of losing lightness due to damage to a blue-color emitting phosphor caused by a VUV irradiation in the passage of lamp life, having a phosphor filled with a discharging medium emitting the VUV radiation during operation, having an improved property of an optical technology, and showing a long-period behavior. SOLUTION: The phosphor is composed of a yellow-color emitting phosphor component and a blue-color emitting phosphor component (two-band phosphor).
