PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device in which the cost increase or the complex structure of the cleaning device resulting from the installation of a drive means or a movement restriction mechanism for a brush roller are avoided and nonetheless improved cleaning performance is ensured while permanent deformation of nap is suppressed.

SOLUTION: In the brush roller 162Y of the roller cleaning device that cleans an electrifying roller 15Y being a body to be cleaned, the nap 161Y are attached to the surface of a rotary shaft 160Y in such a manner that the nap 161Y are tilted from the direction of the normal to the rotary shaft 160Y (direction of a chain line in the figure).
