PURPOSE: Provided is a dual-bearing reel which is mounted on the fishing rod, secures the indispensable function, easily realizes the free designs, and is used as a common part for plural kinds of the fishing rods with different designs. CONSTITUTION: The dual-bearing reel includes: a basic unit(1); and a cover(3). The basic unit(1) comprises a spool(10) for winding a fish-line; a spool driving mechanism(13), rotating/driving the spool(10); a first and second lateral plates(26a,26b) which are arranged in a distanced manner to each other and have the spool(10) between themselves; a one-body frame(26), having many connections(26c) for connecting the first and second lateral plates(26a,26b) as a one body and mounted on the fishing rod; and a mounting frame, having a third and fourth lateral plates(27a,27b). The cover(3) comprises: a first and second covering member(36,37), mounted on the mounting frame in a specially removable manner to cover the outside of the third and fourth lateral plates(27a,27b).
