The tedder has rakes mounted on a beam made up of two sections (7, 8) which swivel from a position where they are at right angles to the direction of motion to a transport position where they are parallel to it. The pivots (11) of the sections are positioned so that the distance (A) between the pivots of the inner rakes is increased.
