METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMAGE TRANSFORMATION TO OBTAIN STILL SCREEN OF HIGH QUALITY

PURPOSE: An apparatus for image transformation is provided to realize a still screen of high quality having no flickering if a still image is displayed in a display device based on interlaced scanning. CONSTITUTION: An image transformation apparatus(200) includes a first conversion circuit(220) generating a still frame from at least one field input in response to a still command and a second conversion circuit(230) connected with the first conversion circuit, alternately outputting top field data and bottom field data constituting the frame during still motion. The image transformation apparatus further includes a processor(210) generating the still command in response to a still signal. The still frame is generated by WEAVE, BOB, motion adaptive interlaced-progressive conversion(MA-IPC) or motion compensation interlaced-progressive conversion(MC-IPC).
