PHENOLIC RESIN, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME AND USE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenolic resin compound giving an epoxy resin excellent in molding property. SOLUTION: This phenolic resin compound obtained by performing the reaction of a dihydroxy compound with a phenolic compound is characterized by having 90-100 % range ratio of a peak area value corresponding to the following (a) to the total of the peak area values corresponding to each of the following (a) and (b). (a) A compound having its molecular weight of a value obtained by subtracting the molecular weight of 4 mols of water from the total molecular weight of 2 mols of the dihydroxy compound and 3 mols of the phenolic compound and a structure of alternately bonding a structural unit derived from the dihydroxy compound and a structural unit derived from the phenolic compound. (b) A compound having its molecular weight of a value obtained by subtracting the molecular weight of 4 mols of water from the total molecular weight of 2 mols of the dihydroxy compound and 2 mols of the phenolic compound and containing a structure of bonding the structural units derived from the dihydroxy compound each other.
