PURPOSE:To feed to the roots sufficient amounts of water, nutrients and oxygen with simple equipments economically by foaming the culture solution with a surface active substance of high molecular weight added and positioning the roots in the foamed part. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution comprising water, needed nutrients, and a nonionic surface active agent of high molecular weight is introduced into a vessel provided with a device for fixing plant bodies at the upper part and a porous lid for cutting the foam rising up from the lower part and air is blown into the aqueous solution or the solution is stirred to foam until the inside is filled with the foam. Plants are fixed so that their roots comes in the foamed part for growth. The nonionic surface active substance of high molecular weight is preferably a cellulosic ester of more than 1,000 molecular weight. |
