PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the generation of a digital line screen is regarded as a part of digital cluster dot screen generation and the number of angles and frequencies available for the digital line screen is also limited. SOLUTION: The method comprises step for: determining a first vector on a high addressability grid having a desired screen angle; obtaining a low addressability direction component for a second vector; obtaining a high addressability direction component for each number of cycles of a halftone line screen and each of the low addressability direction component of the second vector; selecting the high addressability grid in the high addressability direction component closer to an integer which is a high addressability unit; rounding the high addressability direction component closer to the integer of the high addressability unit into an integral value closest to determine the second vector; and obtaining, for the second vector, the size and shift of a Holladay brick for determining the anamorphic halftone line screen which is available for representing a halftone line screen cell determined from the first vector and the second vector.
