PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for multi-channel video distribution are provided to output a video signal to a desired position regardless of distortion, variation or output speed of the video signal by arranging video multiplexers at a multi-stage without coding or decoding the video signal. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for multi-channel video distribution includes a video input portion(10) to which a video signal is input, a video distribution portion(20) distributing the input video signal to a desired position, a controller(30) controlling the whole system to output the input video signal to the desired position, a video output portion(40) outputting the input video signal to an output port selected by the controller, a memory(60) storing the video signal under the control of the controller, and a display(50) displaying the video signal on the screen under the control of the controller. A method for multi-channel video distribution includes the steps of inputting a video signal to a video input portion which is an input port of a first video multiplexer having multiple input and output ports, and outputting the input video signal through a video output portion which is an output port of a second video multiplexer, wherein the first video multiplexer is connected with the second video multiplexer at a multi-stage.
