PURPOSE: To obtain a padding of a foam having cells which are open and communicating by casting in situ in a textile covering. CONSTITUTION: A cloth 2 covered on one side with a foam sheet 3 having cells which are open and communicating is disposed in a mold 1, and further a fluid-tight film 4 is disposed. Then, a composite 5 becoming a covering of the cushion is held against an internal wall 6 of the mold 1 by a suction effect. Thereafter, there is cast in the mold 1 a foaming mixture of a polyurethane which expands and gels after closing of the mold 1. As a result, the film largely expands at a plurality of spots to cause a microperforation of the film, thereby to confer on it good permeability to water vapor and permitting to generate an underpressure in the foam in a gel by a suction effect. After the polymerization and demolding, the padding of the foam having the cells open and communicating is obtained. |
