<p>PURPOSE:To culture a plant body by proliferating a polyploidic cell obtained by carrying out cell fusion of an arboreous plant protoplast, inducing the resultant proliferated polyploidic cell to a shoot primordium and culturing the plant body from the polyploidic cell. CONSTITUTION:The aforementioned method is a method for culturing a polyploidic cell as follows. A polyploidic cell obtained by carrying out cell fusion of a protoplast of an arboreous plant, e.g. eucalyptus is cultured in the presence of a protoplast of a herbaceous plant, e.g. kenaf and grown. The resultant polyploidic cell is then subjected to rotation culture to induce a shoot primordial conglomerate. The aforementioned shoot primordial conglomerate can be induced from the polyploidic cell of the arboreous plant which is conventionally hard to regenerate into a plant and obtained by performing the cell fusion.</p> |
