PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus are provided to prevent accumulation of measurement error, and achieve improved accuracy of position detection with a low cost. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises a step of arranging a proximity sensor(310) for detecting convex-concave structure of a stator(410), in a predetermined portion of a bottom surface of a mover(420) opposed to a top surface of the stator; a step of arranging a rotatable encoder(320) in a predetermined portion of the bottom surface of the mover such that the rotatable encoder contacts a rail(470) for mover guide arranged near a side surface of the stator; and a step of permitting a main control unit to receive signals from the proximity sensor and the rotatable encoder upon movement of the mover, operate a software algorithm for calculating a shift distance of the mover on the basis of the received signal, and calculating the shift distance of the mover, thereby detecting relative positions of the mover and the stator.
