<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize light output power independent of operation temperature and the stabilization of a quenching ratio by simple means in an optical transmitter. <P>SOLUTION: The optical transmitter is provided with a driver circuit 18 for generating a driving current obtained by superposing a modulation current based on a modulation signal inputted from the external to a bias current, a laser diode 20 for outputting a modulated optical signal by the drive of the driving current, an operation means 14 for operating a bias current control value and a modulation current control value which are applied to the driver circuit 18 to drive the laser diode 20 from the characteristic data of the laser diode which are inputted from the external, a storage means 15 for storing the operation results of the operation means 14 and outputting the operation results to the driver circuit 18, and a temperature detection means 16 for detecting the temperature of the laser diode 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
