PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information distribution system capable of legally distributing information data while securing highly reliable copyright protection.

SOLUTION: The information distribution system is provided with a provider's device 33, a purchaser's device 30, a mediator's device 31 having a mediator's information recording means 19 for storing information data to be provided, and a copyright holder's device 32. The provider's device 33 has a deposit notification receiving means 5 for receiving information concerned with deposits, the purchaser's device 30 has a management means 12 for notifying of information concerned with downloaded information data, and the copyright holder's device 32 has a deposit information transmitting/receiving means 14 for receiving the information concerned with the deposits. When the download of information data to be purchased is completed, the management means 12 directly or indirectly informs the deposit notification receiving means 5 and the deposit information transmitting/receiving means 14 of the information concerned with the downloaded information.
