PURPOSE: An optical interface system using ASICs(Application Specific Integrated Circuits) is provided to minimize the number and size of required boards and to support both point-to-point configuration and ring configuration by integrating an optical processor and a MUX/DEMUX part into a single ASIC, forming an optical interface board comprising the ASIC, an east optical module, and a west optical module, and connecting the optical interface board with another identical board through a mother board. CONSTITUTION: The first optical interface board(110) and the second optical interface board(120), provided with east optical modules(111,121), west optical modules(112,122), and ASICs(115,125) respectively, have the same structure, and they are connected each other through a mother board(130). In the first optical interface board(110), the east optical module(111) and the west optical module(112) are connected with the first optical cable(OC1) and the second optical cable(OC2) respectively. The first optical interface board(110) comprises the first MUX(113) and the second MUX(114). The first MUX(113) selects one between a signal received from the east optical module(111) and a signal received from the west optical module(122) of the second optical interface board(120). The second MUX(114) selects one between a signal received from the west optical module(112) and a signal received from the east optical module(121) of the second optical interface board(120). The first and second MUXs(113,114) supply the received and selected signals to the first ASIC(115).
