METHOD FOR CONVERTING WIRE WRAP OF OUTER AND INNER COWL INTO ONE-PIECE TYPE COWL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for enabling replacement of part of a gas turbine engine combustor 30. SOLUTION: The combustor comprises combustor liners 42 and 44 and a wire wrap type cowl assembly 60 provided with an inner cowl 64 and an outer cowl 62. This method includes a process of cutting the wire wrap type cowl assembly on the upstream side of a hole for a fastener 58 used for coupling the inner and the outer cowls to the combustor liners, a process of eliminating part of the cowl assembly from the combustor, and a process of coupling a replacement cowl provided with an inner circular part 112, an outer circular part 110, and a plurality of ligament parts 120 extended between them, and disposed at an interval from each other in a circumferential direction to part of the existing cowl assembly on the downstream side of a cut part.
