The guidance device is provided by a frame (11), supported from the track rails (12,13) on the underside and extending across the track, for supporting the construction or maintenance device (14). The frame has at least one first stop element (17) engaging the inside or outside of one of the rails and at least one second stop element, moved into engagement with the opposite side of the same track rail or the other track rail, e.g. via a hydraulic setting drive(19).
