An oil-based cosmetic preparation which comprises an oily gellant as an ingredient (a), an oil matter as an ingredient (b), and an ingredient (c) consisting of one or more members selected from the group consisting of an ester compound which is a product of the reaction of erythritol and/or an erythritol condensate with a fatty acid and is represented by the following general formula (I) and/or (II), a polycondensate of erythritol and/or an erythritol condensate and the ester compound with a polycarboxylic acid, a polycondensate of a fatty acid with a polycondensate of erythritol and/or an erythritol condensate with a polycarboxylic acid, and a polycondensate of erythritol and/or an erythriol condensate with a fatty acid and a polycarboxylic acid. This oil-based cosmetic preparation has satisfactory applicability, is excellent in cosmetic-film gloss and non-dry feeling, and has satisfactory shape retention. (In the formulae, R1 to R4 each independently represents hydrogen, a residue of a fatty acid, or a residue of a polycarboxylic acid and R5 and R6 each independently represents hydrogen, a residue of a fatty acid, or a residue of a polycarboxylic acid, provided that not all of R1 to R4 are hydrogen and not both of R5 and R6 are hydrogen.)
