PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small magnetic recording and reproducing device capable of efficiently processing the control signals. SOLUTION: This magnetic recording and reproducing device is provided with a switching circuit SW1 and an AMPVREF control circuit 11 so that the magnetic recording and reproducing device is controlled such that a capacitor 16 supplies reference voltage AMPVREF to various amplifiers only at a consumption current transitional period when the consumption current of a voltage follower 35 temporarily becomes large and that the voltage follower 35 supplies the reference voltage AMPVREF to the various amplifiers at the other periods. This prevents an excessive load from being temporarily applied to the voltage follower 35 in a control signal rewriting mode.
