METHOD OF JUDGING EFFICACY OF THERAPY AGAINST HEPATITIS C VIRUS

A method of judging the efficacy of a therapy against hepatitis C virus which comprises the step of determining the amino acids at the 124- and 85-position in the NS5B region of hepatitis C virus belonging to the genotype 1b, and the subsequent step of judging the efficacy of the therapy in accordance with the following criteria: (i) less efficacious in the case of having Glu<124> and Ile<85>; and (ii) highly efficacious in the case of having amino acids other than Ile<85> and Glue<124>; (wherein the positions of amino acids are assigned in accordance with the numbers as shown in Fig. 2).
