PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a suitable air-fuel mixture in both stratified and homogeneous operations with a comparatively simple structure by using the Coanda effect. SOLUTION: In a fuel injection valve 1, a guide face 8a having a larger angle than an angle made by the outer peripheral side of a grown spray with the axis of an injection hole 5 is provided on one part of a spray in the peripheral direction. This fuel injection valve 1 is applied to a direct injection spark ignition type internal combustion engine to form an air-fuel mixture suitable for both stratified and homogenous operations by switching between a case wherein one part of the spray in the peripheral direction is sprayed along the guide face 8a by the Coanda effect, and a case wherein one part of the spray in the peripheral direction is not sprayed along the guide face 8a, according to operation conditions.
