PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair cosmetic having a smooth use feeling on rinsing washed hair, and also imparting smoothness and moist feeling to the finished hair. SOLUTION: This hair cosmetic is characterized by containing (A) a cationic surfactant, (B) N-(2-hydroxy-3-alkyl or alkenyloxy)propyl basic amino acid [wherein, the alkyl or alkenyl is an 8-22C straight chain or branched chain alkyl or alkenyl; and basic amino acid is arginine, lysin or ornithine*] or its salt and (C) 1 kind or≥2 kinds of highly polymerized amino-modified silicone expressed by formula (1). The hair cosmetic exhibits a good effect of having a smooth and good use feeling on rinsing and also an excellent effect of imparting a smooth and moist feeling to the finished hair.
