PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for efficiently utilizing a polychlorinated aromatic compound having a low value of utilization produced as a by-product in producing p-dichlorobenzene by chlorination reaction of benzene, concretely, a technique for producing useful chlorobenzene by reacting the polychlorinated aromatic compound having a low value of utilization with benzene. SOLUTION: In the method for producing chlorobenzene from reaction between the polychlorinated aromatic compound and benzene, titania-zirconia compound oxide is used as a catalyst.
