PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device in which the contact area of a cover and a base case is expanded, a shield property and a cover manufacturing property of the magnetic disk device is improved by simplifying the cover side concave shape. SOLUTION: This magnetic disk device is provided with a base case having the front, the back, and left and right two side planes and mounting a mechanism part including a disk medium, a cover having the front, the back, and left and right two side planes and attached to the base and maintaining the sealing of the mechanism part, and a fixing member which fixes the cover to the base case, whose cross section is a U shape and which has elasticity, and which holds a side plane of the base case and a side plane of the cover between them and fixes it.
