PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the amount of dishes housed by increasing the capacity of a washing tank without increasing the shape of a dishwasher body, in a dishwasher for washing dishes by pressurizing washing water by means of a washing pump so as to eject the washing water from a washing nozzle, . SOLUTION: In this dishwasher, a suction path 25 makes a water storage part 17 in the washing vessel 15 and the washing pump 19 communicate with each other; the washing pump 19 is driven by a motor 20 so that the washing water in the storage part 17 can be pressurized by the washing pump 19; and the washing water pressurized by the washing pump 19 is ejected into the washing vessel 15 by means of the rotatable washing nozzle 21. A rotating shaft 23 of an impeller 22 of the washing pump 19 and the rotating shaft 23 of the motor 20 are almost vertically constituted in such a manner as to be concentric with each other, and a connecting part 26 between the suction path 25 and the washing pump 19 is constituted so as to be concentric with the rotating shaft 23 of the impeller 22.
