PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically classify and store files without requiring setting of a storage location for a file stored by a user in storage of the file. SOLUTION: An edition processing time by an application program 701 is recorded in an edition processing management memory 401 by detecting edition processing using an input device 3 such as start of file edition, creation of a document, and end of the edition by the application program 701, and a substantial execution time found by subtracting a rest time from an execution time from the start to the end of edition is computed by means of the edition processing management memory 401 and an edition time management memory 402. Then, a storage location and a file name of a file 703 serving as a new storage file are decided by using a storage location table 702, in which a storage location of a new file and a file name and serial numbers in the case of automatic setting are previously set in association with the execution time, and a file storage management memory 403, and the file 703 is stored.
