PURPOSE: A track jumping method and a device for an optical recording medium are provided to determine eccentricity of an optical recording medium while starting a track jump at minimum eccentric acceleration, and to complete the track jump at the minimum eccentric acceleration, thereby minimizing influence on the eccentricity of the recording medium. CONSTITUTION: Eccentricity of an optical recording medium is determined(1). A track jump is started at minimum eccentric acceleration(4). The track jump is completed at the minimum eccentric acceleration(6). Before starting the track jump(4), a rotation of the optical recording medium is set at certain angular velocity(2). Right before a tracking control loop is closed(6), a motion of a sled and/or an actuator is completed(5).
