PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric screwdriver equipped with a silent clutch, which tightens a screw in different manners. SOLUTION: According to the electric screwdriver 100, when a drive motor rotates in the normal direction, a driving clutch cam 150 and a driven clutch cam 140 are meshed with each other and engaged by a pressure force of an operator, and a torque in the normal rotation direction of the drive motor is thereby transmitted to a tool bit 123 and screw tightening work is performed. When the drive motor rotates in the reverse direction, the driving clutch cam 150 and the driven clutch cam 140 are meshed with each other and engaged by a pressure force of the operator, and the driving clutch cam 150 and the driven clutch cam 140 are kept engaged even if the pressure force is released. A torque in reverse rotation direction of the drive motor is thereby transmitted to the tool bit 123 and screw releasing work is performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
