<p>The proposed method is to take a sample of the oil from the engine, e.g. with a dipstick, and add it to the contents of a container (1) made of transparent material and containing indicator components (2,3). These include numerous agents in the form of chemical systems with several components. These change colour in the presence of oil and by comparison with a colour comparison chart (11) an indication can be obtained as to whether an oil change is necessary or not. An independent claim is also included for an appliance.</p> |
