<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for rationally manufacturing a disposable hygienic mask. <P>SOLUTION: Firstly, a continuous expansion nonwoven fabric 1 which is composed of a thermoplastic fiber is prepared. Heat treatment is applied to the central fixed width 2 of this expansion nonwoven fabric 1. By this treatment, the thermoplastic fiber is softened and melted, and the fibers are mutually fused together. The original stretchability is restrained since the zone of the central fixed width 2 is fused and becomes a fused part 4. Also, a stretchable part 5 maintains the original stretchability since the heat treatment is not applied to the zone other than the fused part 4. Afterward, the fabric is folded by letting the central line 6 of the central fixed width 2 as a base line. Thereby, a folded end rim 7 is formed in the fused part 4. Next, the upper side and the lower side of the folded end rim 7 are thermally fused off. By the thermal fusing off, parts of the upper side and the lower side are cut, and the superposed thermally fused parts are mutually thermally stuck at the thermally fused part which become a cut end.
