PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bipolar battery in which degradation of battery performance caused by reduction of thickness of a thermally welding resin by heating press is prevented.

SOLUTION: This bipolar battery 1 is composed by stacking bipolar electrodes each composed by forming a positive electrode active material layer 3 on one surface of a collector 2 and by forming a negative electrode active material layer 4 on the other surface thereof by interposing gel electrolyte layers 5. The bipolar battery has sealing members 9 disposed between the collectors 2 and 7 so as to surround the circumferences of unit battery layers 6 each comprising the material layer 3, the electrolyte layer 5 and the material layer 4 adjacent to one another, extending to the outside of the collectors 2 and 7 and thermally welded to one another in the outside.
