METHOD FOR CONTINUOUSLY PRODUCING AROMATIC CARBONATES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for continuously producing aromatic carbonates comprising an alkyl aryl carbonate, a diaryl carbonate or a mixture thereof by reaction between a dialkyl carbonate and an aromatic hydroxy compound in high efficiency in the presence of a catalyst through stable continuous operation without clogging a distillation column. SOLUTION: The method for continuously producing the aromatic carbonates comprising an alkyl aryl carbonate or its mixture with a diaryl carbonate by reaction between the 3-6C dialkyl carbonate and the aromatic hydroxy compound in the presence of the catalyst involves continuously feeding the dialkyl carbonate and the aromatic hydroxy compound as feedstock compounds into the distillation column at tiers above the bottom while continuously feeding the bottom with the catalyst and continuously extracting a by-product aliphatic alcohol via the overhead.
