PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod enabling anyone to smoothly conduct a bargaining with fish taking advantage of its angle. SOLUTION: The fishing rod is such that a crutch pad 3 is attached on the circumference of the rod food side end of the main rod 1. The crutch pad 3 rises inclinedly in the direction setting apart from the circumference of the rod body toward the rod foot side relative to the axial direction of the main rod 1 and comprises an arm receptacle 12 swingable around an ear tip end and a plate spring 13 functioning to impel the arm receptacle 12 in the direction setting apart from the circumference of the rod body toward the rod foot side. A fisherman grips in one hand the vicinity of a reel seat together with a reel attached to the reel seat, puts the arm or elbow of the hand on the arm receptacle 12 of the crutch pad 3 and conduct a reel manipulation or the like with the other hand.
