APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ENCODING/DECODING TRANSPORT FORMAT COMBINATION INDICATOR IN CODE DIVISION MULTIPLE ACCESS MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for coding and encoding transport format combination indicator (TFCI) in a code division multiple access mobile communication system.

SOLUTION: The apparatus for encoding TFCI includes: a one-bit generator which generates a sequence of the same symbol; a basis orthogonal sequence generator which generates a plurality of basis orthogonal sequences; a basis mask sequence generator which generates a plurality of basis mask sequences; and an operation part which receives a TFCI bit including a first information part indicating biorthogonal sequence conversion, a second information part indicating orthogonal sequence conversion and a third information part indicating mask sequence conversion and combines an orthogonal sequence to be selected by the second information part among the basis orthogonal sequence, the biorthogonal sequences constituted of the combination of the selected orthogonal sequences and the same symbol to be selected by the first information part, and a mask sequences to be selected by the biorthogonal sequences and the third information part and generates a TFCI sequence.
