PURPOSE: A straw with a slot is provided to allow the straw to be easily fitted into a beverage vessel, thereby allowing the user to conveniently drink beverage contained in the vessel without requiring a cup. CONSTITUTION: The straw(202) is formed with one or more longitudinal slots(201,203,205,207). The slots of the straw enable the straw to be easily connected to various kinds of beverage vessels irrespective of the size of the beverage vessel. Such slots may have different shapes for optimizing the fitting of the straw to the beverage vessel. Such a straw is easy to install in the beverage vessel. This allows the straw to be used to achieve multiple purposes.
