PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of requesting early return to a customer when a rental period is over. SOLUTION: A timer 20 is provided with an RTC, judges whether or not the current date becomes a set date and when it becomes the set date, emits an event to a CPU 18. For example, when a third event ev3 is emitted from the timer 20 when the current date becomes after one day or later, the CPU 18 reads compressed data CPD 3 from an environment setting memory 24, develops it, stores it in an accessory image bitmap memory 26 as bitmap data BMD3, also draws coordinate data PD3 and stores it together. The CPU 18 controls an image superposition circuit 12 and superposes bitmap data BMD2 as an accessory image on image data DV2 as a main image based on the coordinate data PD2.
