PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic latent image developing toner which simultaneously satisfies moisture uptake resistance, the uniformity of a charged state, low-temperature fixability, hot storage resistance and cleanability and is capable of forming high-definition images over a prolonged period of time, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electrostatic latent image developing toner comprises a step of forming fine resin particles by a wet process, a step of forming core particles by aggregating at least the fine resin particles and fine colorant particles in an aqueous medium and carrying out fixation by heating during or after the aggregation, and a step of forming a shell layer on each surface of the core particles.
