PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a slot-in device and to reduce the running cost and extend the life of a game machine by reducing the frequency and quantity of driving of the slot-in device to which game balls are slotted. SOLUTION: In the game machine, a main control board 131 for integrally controlling the game machine and a slot-in/paying-out control board 136 for controlling both a slot-in device 23 and a paying-out device 28 are separately mounted and connected to each other to communicate. The slot-in/paying-out control board 136 handles game balls by storing virtual game balls in a RAM inside the control board 136 based on card information of a CR unit A for a request for lending game balls, and controls the number of the virtual game balls to be displayed in a credit display part 149. Accordingly, it is not necessary to drive the slot-in device 23 as long as a game is played in the range of the credited number of virtual game balls, so that the frequency and quantity of driving of the slot-in device 23 can be significantly reduced.
